Terms of service
Draft for Cambridge Marketing's approval. Last updated 1 October 2026.
These terms apply to businesses ("clients") that use CambWA, the WhatsApp CRM provided by Cambridge Marketing, Sri Lanka ("we"), and to the people they invite. The client's plan, fees and paid period are agreed with Cambridge Marketing separately; those agreed terms come first if they differ from these.
Your account
Each person signs in with their own email, password and authenticator app. Keep them private. You are responsible for what happens in your workspace and for the people you invite. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
Using WhatsApp responsibly
You must follow WhatsApp's Business terms and policies and the law, including Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act. In particular you agree to:
- message only people who contacted you or agreed to hear from you;
- stop messaging anyone who asks you to (CambWA stops campaigns to anyone who replies STOP);
- never send spam, bought or scraped lists, illegal, misleading or harmful content;
- tell your customers, where required, that you use an assistant and software to reply.
Quick start and the risk to your number
Quick start works with your normal WhatsApp number through the CambWA Android app and Chrome extension. CambWA keeps the risk low (consent-only sending, random gaps, daily limits, working hours, automatic pauses), but WhatsApp may limit or ban any number it considers automated, and no one can rule that out. You accept that risk when you use Quick start. Cambridge Marketing is not responsible for actions WhatsApp takes on your number. The official Meta platform, which Cambridge Marketing can set up for you, avoids this risk.
MAI, the AI assistant
MAI answers from the information you give it and may still make mistakes. Check what it says, keep your knowledge up to date, and take over chats when needed. You remain responsible for what your business tells customers.
Availability and changes
We work to keep CambWA running and secure, and may improve or change features. Planned maintenance is kept short. The service depends on WhatsApp, Meta, Cloudflare and our hosting, which we don't control.
Ending
You can stop using CambWA at any time. When a paid period ends, your workspace stays readable for a short grace period, then becomes read-only; ask us to delete it whenever you like. We may suspend a workspace that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and will tell you why.
Liability
CambWA is provided with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, Cambridge Marketing is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or business, or for actions taken by WhatsApp or other third parties, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Colombo have jurisdiction.
